Educator Lea has extensive teaching experience (11 years +) in both private and public schools both in the USA and abroad (k-12 and community college). Subjects include (but are not limited to) special education, mathematics, and dance/movement. Lea has also served as an educational consultant with the Middle States Association (MSA) in both Montenegro and Hungry. Although Lea now works mostly in dance classrooms, she continues to teach students of all ages and capabilities in schools, studios, and community centers. Lea currently teaches dance and movement classes locally – as AS220 (Providence), Momentum Fitness (Providence) and Collette Vacations (Pawtucket). Lea works hard to establish a judgment-free zone for all her students – from academics to dance – emphasizing the importance of understanding, community and support in her classroom.
Lea’s expertise in and passion for both mathematical literacy and dance has led Lea to design the Pilot Educational Program “Mathematics Moves”. (LINK)
